Overview
This page is a plain-English summary of how renting from West KY Appliances works. The full, binding lease agreement is sent via SignWell after you pay your reservation fee, and is what governs the rental. If anything below conflicts with the SignWell lease, the SignWell lease is what counts.
1. The Rental
West KY Appliances ("we", "us") provides one washer and one dryer ("the equipment") to the renter ("you") on a month-to-month basis. The equipment remains our property at all times.
2. Reservation Fee
The $20 reservation fee holds a set in your name. The fee is credited toward your first month's rent on delivery (you'll pay the remaining $40 balance at that time). If we are unable to deliver and complete service for any reason on our end, the fee is fully refunded to your original payment method within 10 business days.
3. Lease Agreement
After your reservation fee is paid, we send a lease agreement via SignWell. The lease must be signed before we will schedule delivery. The lease covers the rental terms, damage policy, payment schedule, and your responsibilities in full. You'll get a signed copy emailed to you for your records.
4. Monthly Rent
Rent is $60 per month, all-inclusive. The first month's rent is satisfied by your $20 reservation fee plus a $40 balance collected on delivery. Subsequent months are due on the same date each month.
5. Delivery, Installation & Pickup
We deliver, install, and test the equipment at no additional charge within our service area. When you no longer need the equipment, we will pick it up at no charge with reasonable notice.
6. Renter Responsibilities
- Provide standard utility hookups (electric, water, drain, gas if applicable).
- Use the equipment only for ordinary residential laundry.
- Keep the equipment clean and report any malfunction promptly.
- Not move, modify, or transfer the equipment without our consent.
7. Damage & Loss
Normal wear-and-tear and component failure are our responsibility. Damage caused by misuse, neglect, modification, or third parties (including theft) is the renter's responsibility, and you agree to reimburse us for the cost of repair or replacement at fair market value. Specific damage policies are spelled out in detail in the SignWell lease.
8. Cancellation
You may cancel at any time — there's no fixed-term contract. If you cancel within the first 6 months of service, a one-time $60 pickup fee applies (equivalent to one month's rent), collected at pickup. After 6 months, pickup is free. Pro-rated refunds for unused time within a paid month are issued at our discretion. We may also end the agreement with reasonable notice if rent goes unpaid or if the equipment is being misused.
9. Liability
We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including damage to your home from improper hookups not installed by us. Our maximum liability is limited to the amount paid by you in the prior 12 months.
10. Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
